The plot is located on a south-western slope on the Bruderholz with a view of the Leimental valley. The steepness of the plot, the set-back building line and the official regulations do not allow for any horizontal outdoor areas. This led to the concept of placing the living level with a large terrace on the upper entrance level and the bedrooms and cellar rooms on the ground floor level.

The open floor plan with a continuous terrace combines the living, dining, cooking and utility areas, which are accessed from the centre of the house, into one floor flooded with natural light. The volumetric design of the barrel roofs running towards the valley is staged at night with artificial light.
